Songs For The National Health Service is a one-off collection of exclusive, unreleased tracks by different bands and artists, with all profits funding specialised PPE for hospitals that haven’t been provided with it.

We don’t believe the NHS should be treated like a charity, but it’s difficult to watch as frontline medical professionals put their lives at risk during this crisis, especially due to a lack of the right equipment. With that in mind, all proceeds of this record will be used to directly fund the purchase and distribution of reusable PPE Respirators to protect key workers during Covid-19 and beyond.

We’ve partnered with Dr. Natalie Watson at University Hospital Lewisham as she launches the  Hoods for Heroes campaign. Their initial target of £30,000 will provide enough ‘PAPR’ (powered air purifying respirators) to help fully stock Lewisham Greenwich NHS Trust (site of the UK’s first patient with confirmed Covid-19 infection), Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and University Hospital Crosshouse, Scotland. All money raised beyond that will provide equipment for further hospitals and regions based on need, not only helping safely treat victims of Covid-19, but enabling NHS teams to re-start time-critical head and neck cancer surgery.

Foals, The Vaccines, The Big Moon, Sports Team, Wolf Alice, Baxter Dury, The Wombats, The Magic Gang, Nilüfer Yanya, Spector, Swim Deep, The Orielles, Pixx, Jessica Winter, Oscar Lang and Alfie Templeman have all kindly donated tracks exclusively for this compilation, featuring demos, covers, remixes and live versions not available anywhere else, with the majority being released for the very first time.

We our indebted to all NHS staff working tirelessly and courageously through this difficult time. In the future we must do much more to ensure they are funded and paid properly, and forever treated with the respect they deserve.
