FAQ / CONTACT
Got a question? We've answered the most frequently asked below. You can also get in touch via the contact form below.
GENERAL
We are Blood Records. We create limited-edition vinyl drops in collaboration with the world’s biggest and most exciting artists. Unique pressings, made to be played, collected and never re-pressed.
We're also the same team behind Bad World - a dedicated space for our liquid and dry-filled vinyl releases.
We don't do normal. This means the vast majority of our releases feature some kind of special effect element - usually either a splatter, swirl or split colour pattern within the vinyl itself, sometimes a combination of the three. This also includes our picture disc and zoetrope releases.
We have also produced a liquid filled 12", however we mostly leave that to Bad World, our dedicated space for 'liquid' and 'dry-filled' special effect vinyl.
Occasionally. We tend to focus on the vinyl, however the effects sometimes spill out to the record sleeve as well.
We will always state on the product page if any sleeve effects are used, e.g. embossed or lenticular sleeve.
A zoetrope vinyl is a specialised picture disc or etched record featuring a sequence of animated frames arranged in a circle. When spun on a turntable, and importantly viewed under the right conditions, the images come to life.
Here are a couple of ways to view the animations on our zoetrope picture discs. If you’re using a smart phone, place the record on your turntable at 33rpm and leave your phone on its standard 30fps settings.
To view the record this way, make sure it’s under a strong light - the brighter the light, the better. Alternatively, for lower light, you can download a number of different strobing apps from the App Store. These can then be set to strobe at 30hz for the best results.
All our vinyl is pressed to the highest audio standards. We create our records using industrial processes and traditional vinyl presses, guaranteeing the same great sound you would expect from an LP.
Black vinyl is often sited as superior when it comes to audio, often due to colour vinyl being perceived as "impure" in the past. This is no longer the case, especially when it comes to modern pressing methods and facilities.

AVAILABILITY
The best way to find out about future drops is to follow us on socials, subscribe to our Mailing List, or sign up for SMS alerts.
We can't guarantee, however we do have some tips to give you the best possible chance of securing our releases.
- Join the Mailing List, and follow us on socials. As soon as a drop goes live we'll announce it here, and often tease it in advance also.
- Bookmark Blood Records in your browser for easy website access.
- Create an account and pre-save your address and payment details. This will help you checkout faster. You can do this by clicking the 'LOG IN' / 'ACCOUNT' link in the header.
- Make sure you're logged into your account ahead of a release, and your details are correct. This will save time later.
- Be on time. Drops often sell out quickly, sometimes within minutes of going live.
No. Never. We don’t repress our products, once they’re gone, they're gone. We produce the quantity advertised and that's It.
Occasionally we have 'Final Few' drops. This drops consists of cancelled order and returned (and in new condition) units. We usually release these on our website closer to, and sometimes after, release date. Keep your eyes on our social media, or join our mailing list to be notified.
We aim to press enough to meet the demand. We base this on a number of factors, sometimes the quantity we press is out of our control. Occasionally we get this wrong, and when we do we reduce the quantity. We never increase - records only get more limited, never less.
We do. Although not as many as you may think. This is primarily so we have an archive for reference. We will always take from the end of the run, and certainly never number one.
To ensure genuine fans and customers have the best chance to purchase, we often limit our products at checkout. Depending on demand, we may change or remove this after launch.
RE-SELLING
Our records are sold for personal use only, we do no support the purchasing of our products for the purpose of reselling them on the secondary market at a higher price. This is not fair for genuine fans.
Anyone caught, or suspected of doing this, may have their orders cancelled and their account blocked from future purchases.
We only block / prevent accounts from purchasing on our store that we believe to be suspicious, displaying suspicious activity, are connected to resellers, or have been caught reselling.
If your account has been blocked and you believe we've made a mistake, please contact our customer service team.
Vinyl Care / Troubleshooting
There can be many reasons why a vinyl skips, and it's usually not due to an issue with the vinyl itself. In most cases this will be due to a record player's tone arm weighting not being setup correctly.
It's rare, but if your record is visibly damaged, please contact our customer services team.
We recommend storing our records (with the exception of our liquid-filled products) vertically, rather than stacked on top of each other. This should prevent records from warping.
We also recommend keeping your records in dry, not too humid conditions, as well as out of direct sunlight. This applies to all vinyl, not just Blood Records drops.
For dry cleaning: we recommend using either a carbon fibre or velvet brush (held lightly at 45 degrees against the vinyl to capture loose dust).
For wet cleaning: we recommend using a specialise vinyl cleaning solution. To clean apply this to a microfibre cloth (not directly to the vinyl), and gently wipe in the direction of the vinyls grooves. Make sure all moisture is removed before playing.
Note: it is not advised to use water (which contains minerals and deposits that may damage the vinyl), or cleaning machines.
